Woodstock police investigate murder of 43-year-old man in Salt River

A 43-year-old male victim was fatally shot on Tennyson Street, Salt River.

Woodstock police are investigating the murder of a 43-year-old man who was gunned down in Tennyson Street, Salt River, on Tuesday, May 5. 

Provincial police spokesperson, Constable  Ndakhe Gwala, said that Woodstock police were responding to reports of a shooting in Tennyson Street at around 8.40pm. “Upon arrival, they found a 43-year-old male lying on the pavement with multiple gunshot wounds on his head and face,” he said.

Constable Gwala said that medical personnel were on the scene trying to resuscitate the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries.

“The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage. Police registered a case of murder for further investigation,” he said.
